STORYTELLING WITH HEART AND HUMOR
Sheldon Collins is an award-winning author, screenwriter and director whose work blends emotional authenticity, visual storytelling, and unexpected humor. His debut feature, The Americans Are Coming, marked his arrival on the independent film scene as both writer and director, earning recognition on the festival circuit for its sharp comedic tone and offbeat charm.
Two of Collins’s films-Sunday Morning Stripper and Pants in the Family-were acquired by Showtime, affirming his ability to craft character-driven stories with both emotional impact and commercial appeal. Beyond his produced work, he has written multiple spec scripts that have attracted attention from top-tier production companies, noted for their cinematic scope, layered characters, and emotional resonance.
Collins is the author of The Legend of Valentine, a critically acclaimed historical novel set in ancient Rome that reimagines the origins of Valentine’s Day. He also directed the 4x Sovas Voice Arts Nominated enhanced audiobook, featuring a British ensemble cast, immersive sound design, and an original score by Grammy-nominated composer Stephen Endelman. The story is now in development as a limited television series, with Collins attached as creator and executive producer.
Collins holds a bachelor’s degree in Rhetoric from UC Berkeley and a Master of Fine Arts in Directing from the American Film Institute (AFI).
